Reach Out and Read’s launches new strategic plan, vision and mission

Reach Out and Read aims to create a world where every family uses shared reading to build the bonds needed for their children’s health and future. Join us on this revolutionary journey, working together to change the lives of children, families, and communities.

Reach Out and Read’s new strategic plan is a roadmap for dramatic expansion across the next three years — specifically, to serve 10 million children by 2030 — and a demonstration of the continued commitment to nurturing relationships that enable every child to learn and thrive.

Reach Out and Read-Alabama is committed to supporting this bold goal by recruiting new clinics to join our program and giving special attention to clinics in underserved areas.

A diverse group of stakeholders gathered to craft the plan, outlining how our support of young children and families will increase nationwide. Central to this strategy are seven ambitious goals, designed to drive transformational growth while maintaining the quality of and fidelity to the evidence-backed model of the program. From expanding our reach, ensuring sustainable funding, and increasing representation through visibility, strengthening infrastructure, and fostering organizational connections, Reach Out and Read is ready to significantly broaden the program's impact, establishing it as an essential component of pediatric care.
